BAGUIO CITY -- Aly Borromeo and all other members of the Philippine "Azkals" national football team yesterday pledged they will stay on despite the lure of professional clubs abroad.
During the "Kapehan sa Baguio," Borromeo revealed that he received one offer from Indonesia.
Borromeo also said the team has found their training in Benguet very fulfilling and successful.
Assistant team captain Chippy Caligdong added that the team's focus is to continue bringing honor to the country instead of going overseas to earn big income.
This was also confirmed by Fil-Briton James Younghusband who said he is very happy with the team.
Younghusband also honestly responded to a question of rumored marriage proposals to him recently.
"Yes that is true. There is one woman and two males," he said.
But taking a serious stance, Younghusband said that like all members and officials of the national football team, "I am focused to our practice and our future games."
Caligdong also revealed that "Benguet footballers are very skillful. They are good players."
The "Azkals" are also set for a match against the Baguio "Pikpikan" football squad at the city football grounds this afternoon.*PNA
