‘Hot meat’ confiscated

The Bacolod City government’s Task Force Botagoy confiscated at least 12 kilos of pork without proper label and branding in Brgy. Felisa Sunday.

Police Officer 2 Jet Pirote, TF Botagoy member, said they confiscated the meat from Efren Jaranilla at about 7:28 a.m. when they passed by Purok Kipot in Brgy. Felisa.

Jaranilla claimed that he was not selling the pork, it was to be cooked for a birthday party, Pirote said. The confiscated hot meat was brought to the new slaughter house in Bry, Handumanan, where it was burned, Pirote said.

He said that they did not file charges against Jaranilla but instead warned him that selling meat products without markings and proper labels from the new slaughter house is a violation of City Ordinance 459.

Aside from the meat, Pirote said, he, Senior Police Officer 1 Willie Perez and Police Officer 2 Julius Dacles also seized a weighing scale and a 17-inch bladed weapon from Jaranilla.*APN
