retain WVPRISAA crowns

The NOPSSCEA men and women's volleyball teams from the University of St. La Salle won their respective championship matches against rivals from Iloilo to successfully defend their title in the Western Visayas PRISAA at the Iloilo Doctors College covered court yesterday.

With both teams enjoying a twice-to-beat advantage in the last round, the men's team beat Iloilo's John B. Lacson Foundation Memorial University in four sets of their first encounter, while the women's squad engaged their counterparts from the Central Philippine University in a playoff match to keep the crown.

Bacolod City schools
dominate Prov'l Meet

After four days of competition, athletes from Bacolod City public schools remained ahead in the overall tally to virtually clinch, once again, the overall championship in this year's edition of the Palarong Panlalawigan at the Panaad Park and Sports Stadium.

With only several ball game championships to be played today, the Bacolod schools under the banner of Area VII, tallied 199 points in the elementary level and 276 points in the secondary to top the rankings in the meet.
