Rep. Salvador Cabaluna III (Party-list, 1-CARE) said House Bill 5036 will equip rural electric cooperatives with the needed power to operate generation plants.
"By allowing them to run power generation plants, rural energy consumers are being empowered to control the price of electricity," Cabaluna said.
to give holiday pay
All employers and establishments are reminded of their responsibility to compensate their employees working on regular holidays like yesterday and today, Crispin Dannug, DOLE-6 OIC director said.
When workers are asked to work on a regular holiday, employers have to pay 200 percent of the workers basic wage for the first eight hours and employees working beyond eight hours are expected to receive additional 30 percent of their hourly rate, Dannug said.
He hopes that employers will not forget their responsibilities because workers have devoted their time to work for their companies, Dannug said.
