| Four celebrities in town
It was a red letter weekend for Bacoleños and Negrenses who welcomed four celebrity visitors -- resigned Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri, Sen. Sergio Osmeña III, movie actor Coco Martin and movie actress Maja Salvador.
Coco and Maja came for the grand celebration of 888 Chinatown Square that marked its third anniversary, and drew a huge crowd despite the stormy weather.
Sen. Migz Zubiri was also here to say thank you to all those who have believed in him and have aired their support for him despite his resignation.
Sen. Osmeña arrived Saturday for the ceremonial groundbreaking of 62 classrooms worth P22 million that he is giving to Negros Occidental. The rites held at the Adela Elementary School in Silay City was attended by numerous Negros Occidental officials and residents, despite the heavy downpour.
Rep. Albee Benitez, GSIS chairman Daniel Lacson Jr., SRA administrator Gina Martin, AGAPP trustee Mariel Tolentino, DepEd officials, Mayor Oti Montilibano and NVC volunteers headed by Millie Kilayko were among those at the affair.*
