The public may expect full circulation of the New Generation Currency in six new denominations by 2014, Iluminada Sicat, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas managing director of the Currency Management Sub-Sector, said in a government press release.
“While we still have the old series circulating, BSP has a plan of disposition of the currency. With the unfit old notes reaching BSP, the new series is being released in a calibrated manner,” Sicat said.
She noted that some people collect the new money as souvenirs instead of further circulating them.

Private employers told:
Give overtime pay
All establishments and employers are reminded of their responsibility to compensate their workers with overtime pay, Crispin Dannug, DOLE-6 OIC director, said yesterday.
Dannug said all workers have the right to demand for their additional compensation after doing work beyond their eight-hour duty, adding that employees working from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. should also receive a night differential.
Overtime performed on ordinary working days is plus 25 percent of the hourly rate and overtime performed on a scheduled rest day, a special day, and a regular holiday is plus 30 percent of the hourly rate, Dannug also said.

in skills registry bank
The Public Employment Service Office in Bacolod City has registered about 4,000 applicants in its skills registry system that will serve as a skills database and manpower pool for job matching, PESO manager Moise dela Cruz said yesterday.
The SRS will serve as medium between jobseekers and companies. The database will include a list of job vacancies of all establishments and the list of skilled and job positions of the job seekers, he said.
Applicants outside Bacolod can upload and sign up their resume with www.philjobnet.dole.ph, dela Cruz added.
