Fr. Pasquin turns 66
Fr. Felix Pariñas Pasquin celebrated his 66th birthday with a Thanksgiving Mass at the St. John Marie Vianney Hall on July 29.
The only son of Vicente Pasquin and Matilde Pariñas, Felix Pasquin was born in Pototan, Iloilo. He studied at the Sacred Heart Seminary and then at the Maryhill School of Theology.
Fr. Felix’s first assignment was as assistant priest in Silay City, then assistant priest in Murcia. Then he was moved to Cadiz City, became chaplain of Airport Subdivision and parish priest and rector of the St. Jude Thaddeus in Brgy. Alijis where, with the help of his parishioners, he built the St. Jude Shrine. He then became the parish priest of Silay City and helped restore the Silay-Pro-Cathedral.
Now, Fr. Felix is the rector of the San Sebastian Shrine, and is in-charge of the media of the Diocese of Bacolod. He just finished the restoration of Cathedral stained glass windows depicting the Holy Rosary and the two centuries old bells. He was also instrumental in the construction of the concrete stairs at the Cathedral for the benefit of the elderly like Moi, and improved the pavement of the Cathedral parking space.
After the thanksgiving mass everybody sang Happy Birthday song.
Gracing the occasion were his elementary and high school classmates from Potatan, Iloilo, parishioners from Silay, St. Jude, Alijis, Sisters from the Daughters of St. Paul, and Sisters from La Consolacion College, and Gov. Freddie Marañon, Councilor Carl Lopez and Nene Leonardia.
