Man stabs self dead
A man allegedly committed suicide by stabbing himself at his residence in Silay City Negros Occidental Wednesday morning, the police said yesterday.
The fatality was identified as Louie Legaspi, 42, of Antonio Luna, Brgy. Mambulac in Silay by case investigator Police Officer 2 Christopher Sarinopia.
Sarinopia said Legaspi, who succumbed to a stab wound on his chest, was found lying on the floor of their kitchen, soaked in blood, by his daughter Lovelle and his sister, whose name he did not disclose, at about 8:40 a.m.
Legaspi was allegedly suffering from a nervous breakdown and depression and these might have triggered him to commit suicide, Sarinopia told the DAILY STAR.
A stainless knife with bloodstains was recovered at the kitchen sink while a notebook with a message saying “Bel, indi mo pagpabay-an ang mga utod mo paalam (Bel, take care of your siblings, goodbye)!” was also recovered from the crime scene, Sarinopia added.
Although the incident appears as a suicide, Sarinopia said they have requested the Silay City Health Office to conduct an autopsy on Legaspi’s body to ascertain that he indeed killed himself and that there was no foul play behind his death.*APN
