The man whose body was found in a creek in Brgy. Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, Sunday morning was finally identified yesterday to be call center agent John Silvano, 24, of Hervias 2, Brgy. Villamonte, in the city.
He was identified by his brother, Joel Silvano, 37, at the Alisbo Memorial Chapels at Lacson Streeet, Bacolod, Station 7 chief, Insp. Emmanuel Misajon, said.
Case investigator Police Officer 3 Karyl Mugemulta had earlier reported that a passerby, identified as Ryan Lopez, 29, of Purok Santa Maria in Vista Alegre, had discovered the body of Silvano floating in a creek at the Villa Homes Subdivision at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday
Misajon said the elder Silvano said his younger brother had failed to go home since Friday. He added that Silvano’s elder brother and other family member went to Alisbo Memorial Chapels after they learned from television about the unidentified body fished from a creek in Vista Alegre Sunday.
The body of Silvano has already undergone an autopsy, Misajon said.
He also said there is a possibility that Silvano’s death may have been triggered by a personal grudge as the manner in which he was killed appeared well planned.
Misajon, however, also said that they are entertaining the angle of robbery because the cellular phone and the wallet of the victim were missing.
Misajon yesterday appealed to those who may have witnessed or may have knowledge about the crime to surface, so justice can be served to Silvano and his family.*APN
