Donaire offers help
 to RP boxing team

Filipino world boxing champion Nonito Donaire Jr. offered his help to the amateur boxers who are in the thick of preparation for the Guangzhou Asian Games in November.

Donaire, who recently defended his interim WBO world super flyweight title via eight-round knockout against Mexican Hernan Marquez, is offering his “Undisputed” boxing gymnasium in San Carlos, California as training venue for the Asiad-bound boxers.

The boxing champion is planning to talk with the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines officials to present his offer to consider his boxing gymnasium as training venue for the amateur boxers.

He announced his plan to move up to the higher weight category in an effort to fight the best boxers in the world like Fernando Montiel of Mexico and Wilfredo Vasquez Jr. of Puerto Rico.

The 27-year-old fighter has only one loss in 26 fights highlighted with 16 wins via stoppage.*PNA
