A policeman was disarmed and placed behind bars, after allegedly poking a gun at a civilian in Cadiz City, while another one will be investigated for going AWOL (absent-without-leave) in Pulupandan, all in Negros Occidental.
Meanwhile, the three policemen who were denied bail after being charged for qualified theft, are still at-large, despite the order of regional police director, Chief Supt. Samuel Pagdilao, to immediately arrest them.
Police Officer 3 Danilo Leonoras, a member of the Negros Occidental Public Safety Management Company, gave himself up to the Cadiz police Saturday, after he was accused of poking a gun at a certain Erick Justin,31, during a wake in Brgy. Daga, Cadiz City.
Leonoras was immediately detained at the lock-up cell of the Cadiz City Police Station, while Senior Supt. Manuel Felix, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, ordered Senior Inspector Robert Dejucos to place him under investigation.
Police Officer 1 Dionesio Mondejar was marked AWOL by his immediate superior, Senior Inspector Joshua Villasir, for failing to report during a recent inspection in Pulupandan, Negros Occidental.
Facing qualified theft charges are SPO4 Jose Gargar, SPO2 Aladino Docil and PO3 Dante Honrado who denied bail by Cadiz Regional Trial Court Renato Munez, but were unaccounted for up to yesterday.
The arrest of Gargar, Docil and Honrado, all assigned at the Negros Occidental Police Public Safety Management Company, stemmed from the complaint of businessman Alfredo Villacastin about scrap iron worth P65,000 he owned that was confiscated by the suspects last year and are now missing. * GPB
