| 11 wanted persons nabbed
Eleven persons with pending arrest warrants were arrested in the cities of Silay and Talisay, Negros Occidental, police records show.
Ten of the 11 suspects were apprehended in Silay, police chief Supt. Jerry Bartolome said in his report to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
Arrested in Silay were Radney Bedol and Aniceto Adeva, who are facing attempted homicide charges, Jajjie Abellar – robbery, Ricky Morana, Loreto Pelaez, Rodrigo Canillo and Cecilia Jayme – theft, and Samuel Ananeta and Victoria Bagaen – estafa.
Arrested in Talisay by a team of NOPPO intelligence operatives was Julieta Abarido, 58, for estafa, PO3 Junji Liba said.*GPB

3 injured in hacking,
stabbing incidents
Three persons were injured in hacking and stabbing incidents in Barangays Mansilingan, Bata and Estefania in Bacolod City Sunday.
Police identified those injured as Alrey Legaspi, 25, of Purok RCU, Brgy. Mansilingan, Geraldine Bellesa, 19, of Purok Pag-asa, Brgy. Estefania and Marlon Buyo, 20 of Purok Pinetree Zone 6, Bata.
They were rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, where they are now recuperating.
Crime against person investigator Police Officer 2 Donnie Garcia said Alrey Legaspi, who was allegedly armed with a bolo, went to the house of his neighbor Junjun Legaspi, 22 at about 11 p.m. and challenged him to a fight.
A scuffle occurred and Junjun was able to grab the bolo and hacked Alrey hitting his chest. Alrey was rushed to CLMMRH while Junjun evaded arrest, Garcia said.
Buyo sustained three stab wounds on his back inflicted by his neighbor, whose name he did not disclose, after they had a heated argument during a drinking spree in Purok Pinetree Zone 6 at about 10 p.m.
Bellesa meanwhile was injured when a certain “Rodel” of Sagay City, Negros Occidental and a temporary resident of Fortune Towne Subdivision, Brgy. Estefania stabbed her at the Subdivision park at about 5:50 a.m.
Diosdado Bago, 24, of Calong-Calong, Brgy. Singcang Airport, Bacolod was also rushed to CLMMRH when an “alias Bonbon” stabbed him at about 1:30 a.m. yesterday.
Investigation conducted by Garcia showed that Bago was walking with a companion when the suspect, still for unknown reasons, kicked and stabbed him hitting his left hand.*APN

More cops promoted
More policemen of the Bacolod City Police Office were promoted following that of the four police commissioned officers on January 25 and of 43 police non-commissioned officers last month.
BCPO Investigation and Detection Management Section head, Chief Inspector Leonardo Angcon, was promoted to Superintendent, while Police Station 9 chief, Inspector Ramon Villanueva, and BCPO Administrative Officer-in-charge Inspector, Leilanie Garcia, were promoted to Senior Inspectors.
Also promoted to Inspectors were Intelligence and Investigation Branch operative Senior Police Officer 4 Nathaniel Gustilo, IDMS Investigation unit head SPO4 Homer Vargas, IDMS Crime Against property desk chief SPO4 Carmelo Nermal, Police Station 5 deputy chief SPO 4 Nestor Castillo, and Station 7 deputy chief Emmanuel Misajon.
Police Senior Inspectors Noel Polines, Chief BCPO Operations branch; Placido Gentoleo, chief of Police Station 8, Luisito Acebuche, chief of Police Station 1, and Danilo Francisco, head of Police Station 4 were promoted to Police Chief Inspectors last week.
The donning and pining of the ranks of the newly-promoted police officers was held yesterday during the flag ceremony at the BCPO headquarters.
BCPO officer-in-charge, Senior Supt. Celestino Guara, reminded the newly promoted officers to work hard and be more effective in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
Guara also welcomed the 35 new Police Officers 1 who recently graduated from their Public Safety Basic Recruit Course, who will undergo six-month Field Training Program at the BCPO.*APN
