Colors and forms reflecting the spiritual dimension of humanity. These are visual art forms in greeting card form which StarLife recently received.

The cards, distributed by the Chaplain’s Office of the Hong Kong Baptist University, depicts the influence of Christianity in the lives of people. Most of the works were done in oil painting by lady artist, Lee Yuen Yin.

HKBU, with about 10,000 students,  is now a publicly-funded tertiary school with Christian heritage, having been established in 1956 by the Convention of Baptists in Hong Kong with the support of American Baptists. It is the second oldest higher education institution in Hong Kong.

The university has at least nine academic units in four main campuses and is widely-known for its Chinese Medicine program.

Six of Lee Yuen Yin’s works are featured here along with ‘The Cross’  and the Good shepherd Winow at the HKBU Memorial chapel and the good Shepherd. “The artworks in “The Cross” depict the university motto in Chinese characters  in the middle of different styles of colored glasses “expressing  the abundance of God’s grace”
