It was a festive occasion in Don Salvador Benedicto first week of February when it marked its 25th founding anniversary and 18th Kali-Kalihan Harvest  Festival.

Various activities were held during the week including the recognition day and the street pageantry which included dancing and cultural competitions as well as the Diwata sang Kali pageant. Tribu Igmayaan posted a 1-2 finish in Kali-Kalihan streetdancing and cultural competitions, respectively with Tribu Bago and Kumaliskis finishing second and third in the street competition while Silang and Bunga were adjudged first and third, respectively, in the cultural competition.

Igmayaan also took the special awards for Best Headress, Festival Costume and Standard Banner.

Reinforcing Kumaliskis' top performance was the coronation of its bet, Doriely Ugbinada, as the Kali-Kali Diwata with  Hermielie Maalihan  of Pandanon and Lorvic Mallorca, also of Kumaliskis taking first and second-runner honors.

Guests at the  Feb. 9 pageantry were Rep. Julio IV Ledesma and wife, Assunta.

At the recognition program, Mayor Lawrence Marxlen de la Cruz, assisted by Councilor Nehemiah de la Cruz Jr., presented the awards to the honorees who included the family of the late ambassador Roberto Benedicto, former Assemblyman Alfonso Garcua, the late assemblyman Jose Varela Jr., Agriculture Sec, Alberto Romulo, Rep. Ledesma, Gov. Joseph Marañon, Vice. Gov. Isidro Zayco, Board member Nehemias de la Cruz and Vice Mayor Cynthia de la Cruz.

The other awardees were retired Lt. Col. Teodoro Salido Jr., Engr. Rogelio Tongson, Engr. Sanny Boy Oropel, lawyer Zoilo de la Cruz;
