Scenes of Chinese spring in art form
welcomes the Bacolod celebration of the new year.
The
art exhibit last week also paved the way for the BacoLaodiat Festival, which
ends today.
On display were the flower-and-birds art works
of Prof. Tsai Shui-Yuin (Arsenia Lim) and 16 of her students. Prof. Lim, along
with Elsa Leonardia, wife of Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia, cut the ceremonial
ribbon.
The artist, who was born and resides in Manila
, earned her university degree and took intensive art training in Fujian
in Taiwan . Her skills as a mentor and artist has been exihibited for more than
four decades.
Prof. Lim demonstrated her expertise after
the opening of the exhibit, which also featured the works of her students – Mimi
Cu, Celia Chao, Mary Uy, Lily Ty, Sofia Chen, Linda Au Ong, Teodora Ng, Tan Bee
Hua, Bertha Sy, Lilly Ban Hui Uy, Kathleen Lin, Willie Pieh, Jeanie Chua, Santa
Tan, Molly Yap and Rosita Tam
