| Brazilian researcher Camila Moreno will be the guest speaker at the “Forum on Biofuels" on October 21, 9 a.m., at the Fr. Cuenca Hall of University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.
Moreno, a lawyer, does research for Terra de Direitos, a Brazilian non-government organization working on land rights, particularly on social and environmental impacts of biotechnology and agribusiness expansion in Brazil and Latin America.
She is the author of the book “Food and Energy Sovereignty Now: Brazilian Grassroots Position on Agroenergy” published by the Oakland Institute in February 2008, and a member of the Political Ecology working group of the Latin America Council of Social Sciences.
The “Forum on Biofuels" is being organized by the Visayas Network on Climate Change, Negros Organic Agriculture Movement and the Earth Day Bacolod-Negros Occidental Convenors.*NLG
