Cops arrest pastor
for ‘molesting’ kin

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

A pastor who allegedly molested his three daughters, was apprehended yesterday by the police in Brgy. Canlamay, Ilog, Negros Occidental, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Kabankalan Regional Trial Court Henry Arles for six counts of rape.

Senior Inspector Gabriel Gutierrez, Ilog police chief, said the 45-year-old pastor, whose identity he has withheld, was accused of molestations by his three daughters, two of them still minors, who said they were raped by their father in 2006.

The Ilog policemen led by Gutierrez were assisted by 12th Infantry Battalion troopers in serving the arrest warrant to the suspect at about 5:30 a.m. yesterday.

Gutierrez said Arles has denied the suspect of bail.

He added that the suspect, who is now locked up in jail, maintained that he is innocent of the allegations against him.

The victims are now under the protective custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.*GPB
