thanksgiving bash

BUDDAI

Suntown Camp Foundation marked it first anniversary by bringing cheers and sunshine to patient Justine Maeve Guillermo on Wednesday.

Volunteers of Suntown headed by Millie Kilayko, with Tima Lacson, Mila Chiu, Lilibeth Cordova, Hazelyn and Excuse Moi presented her a delicious cake, two Barbie Dolls, colorful linen, and colorful balloons, a trickling ballpen and interesting children’s books.

Yesterday was the start of the four-day camp at Bahay Kalinungan, Suntown Camp Foundation helps children with cancer, and parents who also suffer from the big C.

Camp director Dr. Alvin Parreño and volunteers are happy and looking forward to these four days of camping. A million “thank yous” to those who sponsored the lunch, dinner, merienda and donated cash to this worthwhile project!

The 84th birthday celebration of Celia Lizares Lacson recently was held starting with the traditional thanksgiving mass at her residence, officiated by Fr. Bernard Ybiernas.

Lunch followed with the 17 children and 33 grandchildren of the celebrator in attendance. The celebrator said she was thankful for the extra years or what she called as “bonus” given her by the Almighty God.

Early in the evening, daughters Rose and Bingo asked their Mom to visit a friend, but she did not know that a surprise party had been prepared by the children at Sugarland Hotel. Children took turns to call and invite relatives and friends of Tita Celiang.

The celebrator was surprised when she arrived at the venue, a bold glittering light welcomed her on her natal day. She was more surprised when a long table that could accommodate her best friends in the Damas and Casa Maria, of which Tita Celiang is an active member.

Daughter Sister Margaret of Mary Knoll Japan, together with brother Manman – pilot of PAL arrived in time for the celebration.

Lindy Lacson and niece Cassey Cordova emceed the program. For the finale, everybody sang to their heart’s desire a Happy Birthday for Tita Celiang!

Remember: True compassion will put love into action. If you really care, you’ll want to share.*
