JSY Transport vs.
Sweet Crystal in finals

JSY Transport completed its upset victory over AACI Transport in their final game, 88-77, to arrange a titular showdown tonight against early qualifier Sweet Crystal in the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. Intercolor Tournament at the Tay Tung gym.

The championship game will start 7 p.m.

It was a sorry loss for AACI as they swept the elimination round and earned a twice-to-beat advantage against JSY which finished the elimination round placing No. 5 in the team standings.

Veteran cager Roger Montalbo turned back the hands of time as he scored four three-point shots at the crucial stretch in the fourth quarter to dominate the play for JSY Transport.

AACI Transport threated at 69-65 with 5 minutes left in the ballgame as they shackled JSY main man Ritchie Militante with a double teaming defense in the post.

Having difficulty to pass the ball to Militante, JSY turned to Montalbo who hit three straight three-point shots while teammate center Eugene Tsai added another trey from the left quartercourt as the time expires.

During the run AACI’s only answer were layups from Robbie Jalando-on and Josef Baclay as JSY extendedtheir lead to 15 pts at 85-70 with 1:15 time remaining.*
