PCCCI vows support
to Capitol projects

A group of Filipino-Chinese businessmen pledged to support the provincial government during their courtesy call on Gov. Isidro Zayco at the Capitol early this week.

Zayco welcomed the officials of the Philippine-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Negros for 2008 to 2009 headed by their president, Jet Li.

Other officers are with Kim Tan, vice president; Johnny Tan, secretary; Lucio Ang, treasurer; and Joseph Sy, Henry Lee, Wen Ming Tsai, Tony Sy and Alfredo Yulo, directors.

Pass land admin law,
municipal mayors urge

The  League of Municipalities of the Philippines members who joined the recent Visayas Island Cluster Conference in Bohol are calling on both houses of Congress to immediately pass into law the proposed Land Administrative Reform Act (LARA) of 2007, Manapla Mayor Manuel Escalante, LMP secretary general, said yesterday.

The LMP mayors in the resolution they passed calling for the LARA passage said it will upgrade, systematize and integrate  the administration, management and operations of the country’s land resources in both private and public lands.S

PTA engages firm for P300-M
Boracay water supply mgm’t

The Philippine Tourism Authority yesterday signed a P300- million partnership agreement with Manila Water for the management of the water supply systems and sewerage in Boracay Island.

 Tourism Secretary Ace Durano, acting PTA general manager, executed a memorandum of understanding and contract of services for Manila Water to devise, implement and monitor management plans for the Boracay Water Sewerage System.

The PTA sees the agreement with Manila Water as essential in protecting the vital public services and facilities in Boracay.
