ARC launched in Amlan town

The Department of Agrarian Reform-Negros Oriental launched the 34th Agrarian Reform Community and the Central Development Center recently at the BADC in Silab, Amlan.

The CDC-Silab has 4,988 hectares with agricultural land area of 3,433, and topography of nine percent. This ARC has a total population of 8,684 of which 6.20 percent are Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries.

Existing people’s organizations are the Bio-os Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries, Jantianon Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries and Silab Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries multipurpose cooperatives.

At the launching were Rep. George Arnaiz (NegOr, 2nd district); Mayor Bentham  de la Cruz; Vice Mayor Carmen Tan; community agrarian officer Dr. Antonio del Socorro of the Department of Agrarian Reform in Region 7; assistant regional director Nevino Cardente representing regional director Rodolfo Inson;  municipal agrarian reform officer Roque Chiu; out-going MARO Guillermo Enrera; and PARO officer-in-charge Pacifico Quindo Jr. representing PARO Grace Fua.

Arnaiz reminded the farmer beneficiaries of their obligation to pay their taxes, and also expressed his support to CARP.*RG
