Drug suspect gunned down
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects shot dead late last week a man linked to illegal drug transactions in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City,  police investigators said yesterday.

Declared dead on arrival at the Silliman University Medical Center was Gerard Lomhud, who sustained two gunshot wounds in the neck and back.

Probers said Lomhud was shot by the suspects whose motorcycle plate number was given to the police.

Meanwhile, 11 barangay officials in Mantiquil, Siaton, Negros Oriental  may end up with nothing when half of their cash gift that was placed in an envelope was misplaced by their barangay treasurer in Dumaguete, police reported yesterday.

Barangay treasurer Melody Cabanag, 38, told the police that after she encashed P27,000 from a bank, she went inside Unitop to buy some items for her personal needs, when she misplaced the envelope containing the cash.*JG
