NegOr PNP gets vehicles
BY MARICAR ARANAS

The Negros Oriental Philippine National Police recently received more vehicles and motorcycles from the regional PNP headquarters in Cebu City.

The new units are three Toyota Hi-Lux pick-up trucks, one Toyota Corolla Altis, and three Honda 200R motorcycles, Chief Insp. Rosalinda Abellon, provincial Police Community Relations Officer, said.

She also said PNP Provincial Director,  Senior Supt. Melvin Ramon Buenafe, turned over the vehicles yesterday at the regular flag retreat at the PNP Provincial Office at Camp Fernandez, Agan-an in Sibulan town.

The pick-up trucks will go the police stations of Valencia, Zamboanguita and Bayawan City, the motorcycles to the police stations of Basay, Tanjay City and Vallehermoso, and the Altis to the La Libertad PNP.

Meanwhile, the provincial police said a new program initiated by Buenafe has started reaping its gains.

Buenafe introduced an incentive-based initiative that will encourage more attendance to the regular Monday morning flag retreat, the police said.

Buenafe said the number of police personnel, both uniformed and non-uniformed, assigned at Camp Fernandez, attending the flag retreat, has dwindled.

As an incentive, a raffle draw with prices ranging from 25 kilos to a sack of rice, electrical appliances and other items, is being held immediately after the flag-raising ceremony.

The "early birds" who write down their names in a register will qualify for the next week's raffle.*JG
