120 cops drug-free
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

None of the 120 policemen, including Senior Supt. Rosendo Franco, subjected to a surprised drug testing in previous weeks, tested positive, police records show.

The 120 policemen had maintained peace and order at the recent Pana-ad Festival in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Franco, however, said they all tested negative for prohibited drugs.

He added that more drug testing will be conducted among policemen assigned in Negros Occidental, but did not disclose the dates.

Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, provincial police director of Iloilo, yesterday said he has not yet received the result of the drug tests of 200 policemen in his command.

Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas, regional police director, had earlier warned that policemen who tested positive for drug use and found guilty during pre-charge evaluation proceedings, will be dismissed from the police service.*GPB
