2 sisters shoot,
stab each other

BY PATRICK PANGILINAN

Two sisters shot and stabbed each other during an argument while having a drinking session in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, Monday, the police said yesterday.

Roselyn Contiga, 20, and her older sister, Elsie Contiga-Dieta, 28, were both taken to the St. Anne emergency clinic in Cadiz after they attacked each other with a knife and a gun in their home in Hacienda San Jose, Brgy. Mabini, at about 3 p.m. Monday.

Dieta has already been discharged from the hospital after being treated for a gunshot wound in her left thigh, while Contiga was still under observation for a knife wound on her chest yesterday, Chief Inspector Jefferson Descallar, Cadiz police chief, said.

Descallar said that old conflicts between the two may have been triggered by their intoxication and led to the incident.

He added that the sisters will probably settle their differences although they are still searching for the .38 caliber revolver that Roselyn allegedly used.*PP
