| Blessings, proms
The third year students of the University of St. La Salle recently celebrated their prom night at L’Fisher Hotel. The event fostered parent-student camaraderie as the class, with the assistance of their parents, held an Oscar-inspired red carpet gala with a trendy, futuristic theme.
The parent-organizers headed by Marlou Olmedo, Tina Baldevia, Espie Reyes, Gina Villanueva, Elsa Clavier, and Itchay Lizares were surprised at how well they managed the event – from the decorations, aired live in three widescreens of the hotel’s viewing rooms, to the much anticipated pop-waltz cotillion in which all the beaus and belles of the prom participated.
Siblings Teodoro and Stephanie Lizares were crowned as the Prom King and Queen, while Philip Cordero, Nico Gatuslao, Rowena Villanueva, and Joanne Aloba were hailed Prom Princes and Princesses, respectively.
The judges, headed by Michelle Gallaga, were impressed by the contrast of elegance and spontaneity each of the participants projected.
Later that night, everyone took home iPod studded Teddy bears for keepsakes, and perhaps some groovy memories they had to look back to until the following Monday morning.
