Reunions, anniversaries

BUDDAI

Everybody is excited preparing and looking forward to celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday. There are many ways to make the day special. One can buy a simple gift for his or her mom, or bring and treat her to a special lunch or dinner.

Various hotels and restaurants are offering special treats for the day of the mothers.

A Happy Mother’s Day!

Alumni of Sagay National High School celebrated their 57th Foundation Anniversary on the theme “Onward for More Laurels,” May 2 to 4. The anniversary was well-attended by alumni now based in other countries all over the world.

The three-day affair featured fun, frolic and nostalgic memory from alumni of all ages. They looked and felt young once again in getting together with former classmates, groupmates, and even sweethearts, from way back then.

There was no dull moment for the revelers, inspite of the heavy downpour, later followed by scorching heat. The climax of the occasion was the torch parade by alumni.

The crowning of the alumni Queen Phoebe Nichols Maravilla, of Class 60, the book launching of Evelyn Miranda Feliciano of Class ’57, programs, sumptuous dinner, and the get-together lunch hosted by Mayor Freddie Maranon II, were some of the highlights.

For their Golden Jubilee, three of their mentors were present: Angeles Katalbas Piccio, Anita de Leon Katalbas and Esther Tupas. The classmates offered a silent prayer for their departed classmates and teachers. God bless SNHS!

Balikbayan Myla Ciocon Azer of L.A., of Class 56 of Negros Occidental High School, and sister Sally Ciocon Monteiro of Class ‘58 arrived to attend their class reunion.

Highlighting their many activities was a visit to a lovely beach, and to Mambukal resort.

Remember: Stop wishing for things you complain you have not, and start making the best of all that you’ve got.*
