Money changer employee
loses cash to robbers: PNP

An employee of a money changer was held up and divested of P350,000 in cash at gunpoint by still unidentified persons in Bacolod City Wednesday night.

The police said yesterday that Ranuel Bernabe, 32, told Police Station 2 investigators that he was driving his motorcycle at 25th-Aguinaldo streets, Bacolod, at about 7 p.m. Wednesday, when three unidentified men, who were on two motorcycles, waylaid him, threatened him with a .45 caliber pistol, took the cash, and fled.

Bernabe, an employee of Linda M. Money Changer at Lopue’s East, Brgy. Villamonte, said he cannot recount the incident well yesterday because he was still shocked at what happened but he hopes the police could arrest the suspects.

Police Station 2 commander, Senior Inspector Luisito Acebuche, said they will investigate the robbery but added that Bernabe could help them by describing the features of the thieves.

On Tuesday, Dungganon Bank collector, Joshua Rendon, 29, reportedly lost P60,000 in cash and checks to still unidentified persons in Isabela town, Negros Occidental.*PP
