| A security guard in civilian clothes and his companion were arrested yesterday for illegal possession of firearms in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
Senior Inspector Gary Allan Resuma, Binalbagan police chief, yesterday said the arrest of Ronnie Calves, who claimed to be a member of the Baygor Security Agency, and his companion, Joemar Decejo, 18, yielded an Armscor 12-gauge shotgun with four ammunition and a homemade .38 caliber revolver, also with four bullets.
Resuma said the apprehension of Calves and Decejo who had been hired by a certain Pablito Estember to watch his property in Brgy. Bi-ao, Binalbagan, was made after town residents informed them about the presence of armed men, on board a Suzuki Carry multi-cab
The Police said Calves failed to present documents allowing him to carry a firearm outside his duty area, while Decejo was not authorized to carry the gun recovered from his possession.
Resuma said some residents in Brgy. Bi-ao, Binalbagan, complained and alleged that the arrested suspects were firing their guns indiscriminately and were also conducting checkpoints.
The Binalbagan police expect to file charges for illegal possession of firearms against the two suspects today.*GPB
