Farmers from two barangays in Bacolod City will adopt the Masipag  organic rice farming technology introduced by the Federation of Free Farmers after a seminar on FREEFARM today and tomorrow, the FFF said in a press release.

The two groups are the Ilawod Small Farmers Association headed by Ramon Jarme in Brgy. Cabug and the Pahanocoy-Cabug Rice and Vegetable Growers Association, headed by Romeo Matti in Brgy. Pahanocoy.

The seminar will be held at Brgy. Cabug Gymnasium during which the officers of both associations will also be inducted, with Brgy. Capt. Reboni de Paula welcoming the participants and guests, the press release said.

Art Reyes, community organizer, will introduce the guests led by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Councilor Alex Paglomotan and City Agriculturist Goldwyn Nifras.

Reyes will facilitate the farming activity with Mike Baylon, FFF provincial coordinator and resource person, in time with the planting season.

The first day will focus on discussion about organic farming while on the second day, the participants will take part in the actual trial seeds sowing in trial farms, the press release added.*
