Mayors set for
Malaysia, Singapore

Negros Occidental mayors are leaving for Singapore and Malaysia to learn more about solid waste management and other programs that may be applicable in their towns and cities, Manapla Mayor Manuel Escalante said yesterday.

Escalante, president of the Negros Association of Chief Executives, said the trip is being arranged by the League of Municipalities of the Philippines with the Malaysian and Singaporean governments, but the mayors will be personally paying for their trips.

Among those going on May 14 to 18 are mayors Escalante, Rommel Yogore of Valladolid, Jilson Tubillara – San Enrique, Renato Malabor – Isabela, Alberto Nicor – La Castellana, Joyce Alvarez – Ilog, Ma. Teresa Bilbao – Hinobaan, David Lacson – EB Magalona, Jose Eugenio Lacson – San Carlos, Marxlen de la Cruz – Don Salvador Benedicto, John Rey Tabujara of Cauayan and Esteban Coscolluela – Murcia.*CPG
