Raps filed vs. 2 rob suspects
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Two of four suspects in the broad daylight robbery of a junkshop in Dumaguete last week remain at large, while the other two have been charged Friday with robbery and intimidation before the Dumaguete City Prosecutors Office.

VRT Junkshop, Michel Angelo Tam, was disembarking from his car in front of his store in Calindagan, when he was robbed of P110,000 and a licensed .45 caliber pistol.

The money and the gun were snatched while in the hands of his companion , Ruben Cinco, by the suspects.

A hot pursuit operation resulted in the apprehension of two suspects Willer Sapio and Louie Hirang, in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete.

During the same operation, the police uncovered a suspected drug den and arrested six persons including, one of the suspects while having a pot session.

Sapio and Hirang vehemently denied the accusations against them. The police said they are searching for more leads for the recovery of the and gun and the money, and for two other suspects who could have acted as the lookouts, when the robbery was staged.

Sapio’s mother, Mercy, who works with the General Services Office of the city government, supported the claim of his son Willer that he could not have been present in two places at one time.

When the alleged crime was staged, her son, with his wife Jenny, was at the City Hall to ask for money, she said.*
