Stakeholders of the small and medium entrepreneurs sector in Iloilo will hold a Strategic Planning Workshop tomorrow at the Grand Hotel in Iloilo City.

The planning workshop is being organized by the Iloilo Small and Medium Enterprises Development Foundation Inc. in cooperation with the German Technical Cooperation and the Department of Trade and Industry.

The workshop aims to enable the Provincial SMED Council to prepare its strategy in achieving its goals and objectives and to plan, implement and monitor its Annual Work. The activity involves the revisiting of the mission and vision statement of the Iloilo SMED Foundation and identifying of activities for 2008 with collaborating agencies.

Rhea Ledesma, GTZ regional coordinator, will facilitate the workshop that will be attended by officers and representatives from various agencies and organizations.

The Iloilo SMED Foundation Inc.,established under Republic Act 6977 or Magna Carta for SMEs,  was created to effectively spur the growth and development ofSMEs in the city and province of Iloilo and to carry out the policy declared in the Magna Carta.*
