| A house warming!
It was an intimate group of Dumaguete’s “movers and shakers” and a sprinkling of old guardS that gathered a few nights ago for dinner and drinks in a charming chalet in an upscale suburb of this gentle city.
The occasion was the blessing and house warming of the white newly built abode of brilliant young lawyer Alex Villanueva and his lovely wife Angel Amigo-Villanueva. (Deviating dahlings, Angel has one of the most beautiful faces in this city of lovelies!) The groupie that had a nice evening of serious and most oftentimes trivial gab was the party crowd that is famous for fun.
To name a few of the personas: Bibet Romero, Marilou Ortiz, Marissa and Maritoni Remollo, Jane Romero with handsome “Sam the man”, Desiree Villegas, Tini Fleischer, Mickey and Toni Amigo, Bing Carmona, Joel Obar, etc. VIPS were Postmaster General Chito and his Lyn Villanueva, and well-known memorial moguls Gabriel and Rosamond Amigo. Angel’s equally stunning daughter Alyesha and porcelain beauty sister, Honey Amigo Teves with fresh from her Miss Teen Philippines - Negros Oriental win daughter Alleymae, helped in the hosting chores.
Crisp and exquisite Spanish red wine and a buffet gladdened with delectable dishes, specially the Whole Fish on a bed of creamy noodles, were enjoyed by the convivial gang. Needless to say, “Wishing Angel and Alex decades of happiness in their home.”

“April showers bring May flowers!” So yes, the city and its work-a-holic tourism council is in a tizzy preparing for the 2nd Kabulakan Festival. Nightly activities are lined up in the park mostly dominated by bands and ballroom dancing. There will be landscaping, flower arranging, and dish plant decorating contests in the works. The highlight of the week-long affair is a street dancing and showdown competition between the different barangays, each depicting a flower found here. Movie stars will be perched on floats and providing entertainment during the event. So do come and join us in the merry-making……..NOUS.*
