| Impressive performances from the taekwondo jins of Cadiz City and Ilog gave the two Local Government Units five gold medals each in the Panaad sa Negros Sports Festival at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Both Cadiz and Ilog earned three gold medals in different events in grade school boys and girls’ division and two championship titles in the juniors boys and girls’ department.
Romeo Constantino and Ronwengel Escoyo topped their categories for Cadiz’s two gold medals in the grade school boys while Kheno Rubin and Karl Rubin scored Ilog’s gold medalists in the same division.
Ryan Amisola’s dominance in juniors boys’ bantamweight that was replicated by Nesly Abarquez in the girls’ category, added two more titles for Cadiz City while Ferdinand Tomas’ featherweight title and Mary Jane Borbe’s crown in fin weight completed the five-gold finish of Ilog in taekwondo.
Three gold medals went to San Carlos City, courtesy of Donaric Panunciar in boy’ finweight, Ryan Tumbaga lightweight and Darwin Requina Jr. in grade school boys.
Bacolod City also took three gold medals, two in the grade school girls posted by Geovie Bedayos and Roni Jean Raymundo, and one in the juniors’ division from welterweight John Sergio.
La Carlota City’s two gold medals came from Johanna Marie dela Cruz in juniors girls’ welterweight and Valen Khay Pabilario in featherweight while Sagay City’s two titles were delivered by Danah Faye Rios in girls’ lightweight and Eduard Buenavista in boys’ flyweight.*NAB
