Farmer bashes brother to death
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

A farmer bashed his brother to death by hitting his head with a G.I. pipe as they contested the ownership of a 2-hectare agricultural land in Sitio Maglunod, Brgy. Quezon, San Carlos City, on Wednesday.

Supt. Harold Tuzon, San Carlos police chief, yesterday identified the victim as Primo Recana, and the suspect as his younger brother, Celestino.

Tuzon said Celestino used a GI pipe in hitting several times his brother in the head, causing his death.

Celestino who immediately surrendered to the San Carlos City Police Station, is now in jail, while homicide charges are being readied against him.

Tuzon said the Recana brothers are contesting ownership of the property owned by their parents.

Meanwhile, a militiaman was charged with homicide for the death of a certain Jonel Bacongco, in the barangay, on April 28.

Tuzon said Bacongco, 22, was stabbed by Zaldy Olido, a para-military trooper.

Olido surrendered to the police and is now locked up at the San Carlos police jail.*GPB
