SK head still undecided
on use of P1.5M budget

BY NIDA BUENAFE

The Negros Occidental Sangguniang Kabataan Federation representative yesterday said she has not decided yet whether to use the P1.5 million budget from the provincial government to purchase a new vehicle or not, but admitted that she is contemplating to purchase one, using the budget, too.

Jebmari Becaro said the vehicle turned over to her by former SK representative Lorenzo Suatengco, while still in running condition, needs some repairs.

Should she decide to buy a new service vehicle, she said she will choose one that will not be too expensive and use the remaining funds for her projects for the youth.

Becaro said nothing is wrong with the fund allocation as it was really intended for the board members’ service vehicles since those that were turned over to them were not in good condition anymore.

Eleven members of the provincial board were under fire recently for the purchase of new vehicles.

While there is nothing illegal in the purchase of the vehicles, Vice Gov. Emilio Yulo III said the government officials who will use them can be held accountable by their constituents if they fail to visit their areas for consultative meetings and visitations.*NAB
