Stella’s Lunch

It seems that our post holiday social calendar comprised mostly of birthday lunches or dinners. One of the most memorable birthday lunches was that of social and civic icon, Stella Macias-Romero, daughter of  NegOr’s father of the third  district, the late Congressman Lamberto Macias, sister of Governor Emilio Macias II, and wife of George Romero of the well entrenched Romero clan of Tanjay.

“Simpatica” Stella treated old guard of Dumaguete and the province to a sumptuous lunch meticulously prepared by Tinchu and Lisa Perdices at their restaurant by the sea Mamia. A fusion of Spanish and Filipino cuisine consisting of fish, beef, pork, chicken, vegetable dishes and casseroles were enjoyed by Stella’s select group made up of namedroppables of the area, the likes of childhood friends Governor Dodo Macias and Mayor Tuting Perdices, Honorables Chiquiting and Maissa Sagarbarria, Mariant Villegas, Inday Pita Escaño, Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel Amigo, Junior and Maluecca Teves, Monching and Lily Teves, Aning Diago, Nenuca and Charito Teves, Dr. Felipe and Pinang Remollo, Land Remollo, Carmen and Doña Meding Cabrera, and many Siaton business royalty.

Popular Dumaguete personality, only daughter of Stella and George, spitfire Bibette Romero, entertained her circle of younger matron friends, Penn Larena, Anale Aves-Dancel, Tini Fleicher, Mariton Remollo, Desiree Miranda, Angel Amigo-Villanueva, Pichina Teves, Ruth Santander and the indomitable Chinky Romero to cocktails and chatter. It was such a pleasant afternoon of camaraderie and old times. Happy birthday Tita Stella, and may you have many more.

Our most hearty congratulatory hug goes to our local ladies who made it to Kuya’s house. Miss Teen Dumaguete-Sandurot ‘07 Rona Marie Libby and Silliman University coed Christine “Beauty” Gonzalez were among the 12 housemates to enter into the reality ABS-CBN show Pinoy Big Brother – Teen Edition Plus. I know these girls and I know they will make good. Dahlings you have our support and love. You made us proud.
