LCA-Murcia topped the boys’ 14-Under tournament by smashing Queen of Peace School, 25-21, 25-23, a day after its boys’ 10-Under squad overcame St. Benilde School, 25-17, 25-23.

Khen Mark Dunton of LCA-M was named Most Valuable Player for the boys’ 14-Under division. His schoolmate, Ryan Christian Carias, was the top player in the boys’ 10-Under category.

Batch rivalries return to the fore as the St. John’s Institute Alumni Association stages another inter-batch basketball tournament on April 19 at the SJI Activity Center, a press release from organizers said.

The tournament comes after the Christmas tournament, which organizers describe as “a success”.

This time, the tournament has attracted more teams with the participation of alumni batches that did not see action in the previous tournament, among which are Probac 89 and below and FilSino 89 and below.
