| Batch rivalries return to the fore as the St. John’s Institute Alumni Association stages another inter-batch basketball tournament on April 19 at the SJI Activity Center, a press release from organizers said.
The tournament comes after the Christmas tournament, which organizers describe as “a success”.
This time, the tournament has attracted more teams with the participation of alumni batches that did not see action in the previous tournament, among which are Probac 89 and below and FilSino 89 and below.
Another newcomer is batch 2008, bringing the number of participating batches to 14 teams.
Tournament organizer Dennis Ko will hold a meeting on the participating batches on April 5, which is also the deadline for submission of lineups, the press release said.
The tournament format will call for a single-round with modified passarelle.
