Governors and city mayors of Western Visayas will gather in Sipalay City today for a Regional Development Council meeting, Gov. Isidro Zayco said yesterday.

The meeting is being held in Sipalay on the invitation of Mayor Soledad Montilla.

Zayco said his concern at the RDC meeting is the request for the RDC endorsement of a proposed port in Barangay Tagda, Hinigaran.

A port in Hinigaran could help boost economic activities in southern and central Negros, Zayco said.

Montilla also has development programs for Sipalay that need RDC support, he said.*CPG
