The finest products of Negros Oriental were showcased at the National Trade Fair at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City recently, Senior Tourism Operations Officer Myla Mae Abellana said yesterday.
Participants in the trade fair were producers from 17 regions in the country. The event was aimed at providing a venue for the remarkable artistry and craftsmanship of Filipinos, organizers said.
Exhibitors from Negros Oriental were Dr. Stella Lezama of Orient Gifts, Roy Alcaide - HIKABAN, Reena Diago - DJD Handicrafts, and Narima Tahir - Pearls and Gems, all member sellers of the Sidlakang Negros Village Showroom, and Glen Cadorna of La Libertad Weavers Association.
The five-day Trade Fair highlighted gifts and home décor, fashion accessories, furniture, house ware, toys, holiday décor, arts and crafts and food products.
The national trade fair is an annual market for direct selling and bulk order transactions, which sustains local production and generates economic benefits throughout the countryside, Abellana said.*RG
