Vista Alegre Kisi-kisi
fest top winner

Barangay Vista Alegre topped the 15 competing groups in the street dance competition of the 2008 Kisi Kisi Festival in Ilog town yesterday.

First runner-up was Brgy. Bocana which also won the best in choreography special award, while Brgy. Dancalan received the second runner-up honors.

Best in costume award was split between Brgys. Manalad and Delicioso while Brgy. 1 won as most disciplined group.

Other competing groups that received consolation prizes were Brgys Tabu, 1, Calubang, Consuelo, Galicia, 5, 2, 6, Andulawan, 7, Manalad and Delicioso.

Kisi Kisi is a dance parade which stands for the way fish flip-flop and twitch as they are hauled during the bountiful harvest.

Participants in the street dance competition wear costumes and headdresses adorned with multi-colored shells and fish nets, while props include bamboo poles and baskets used for fishing.*NB
