| The 8,047 Philhealth cardholders in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental will soon renew their membership, a press release from the city said.
A program was held at the public plaza of Kabankalan yesterday for the distribution of the new Philhealth card among members with Mayor Pedro Zayco Jr., Vice Mayor Delia Anacan and Councilor Jose Dumaguete present.
The distribution of health cards was facilitated by the City Social Welfare and Development office of Kabankalan headed by Adelina Tomaro.
The city government has appropriated P5.2 million every year for the project, and members to avail of a rebate for hospitalization and P500 worth of medicines for out-patients, the press release said.
The new Philhealth ID distribution has been conducted in barangays Magballo, Camugao, Talubangi, Salong, Locotan, Tampalon, Binicuil, Tabugon, Pinaguinpinan, Tagucon, Carol-an, Daan-Banua, Oringao, Orong, Bantayan, Camansi, Linao, Tapi, Tagoc, Inapoy, Camingawan, Tan-awan and Hilamonan and in Brgys. 1 to 9 in the poblacion, the press release added.*

Acquisition of home
for needy approved
The Board of Trustees of Kalipay Negrense Foundation Inc. recently approved the acquisition of a home for needy children now known as Haven’s Home in Bacolod City, its president, Anna Balcells, said yesterday.
The mission of the Foundation, which was created in 2007, is “to bring joy to every disadvantaged child”, Balcells said.
Its main beneficiaries are the homeless, physically abused, sexually abused, malnourished, out of school and special children, she said.
The foundation aims to work with individuals, groups and organizations in establishing communities where the rights of disadvantaged children are protected and where they are empowered and allowed to grow in a fun and loving environment, she said.*
