Daughter kills pa;
4 others slain, too
BY GILBERT BAYORAN
;

The killing of a father by the daughter he had allegedly molested two years ago was among the seven bloody incidents in Negros Occidental during the observance of the Holy Week, where four other persons lost their lives, police records show.

The lifeless body of Rolando Cunanan, 56, hogtied and with multiple hack wounds, was found yesterday in a nipa hut in Brgy. Pandanon Silos, Murcia.

SPO1 Frisco Lobaton, Murcia PNP desk officer, yesterday said they found a letter at the crime scene, allegedly written by Imee Cunanan, who claimed responsibility for the killing.

Imee admitted that she and her live-in partner, Benjie, were responsible for the death of her father, whom she accused of molesting her two years ago, Lobaton said.

Police investigations also showed that Imee, accompanied by “Benjie” with whom she was living in Metro Manila, arrived in Murcia last week, allegedly to seek justice for the ordeal she allegedly suffered from her father.

Lobaton said the couple reportedly fled on board a motorcycle.

Other fatalities in stabbing, hacking and shooting incidents were identified by the police as Felizardo Espora and Prospero Solana, both 50 years old, Lancer Aldaba, 10; and George Mollenido of legal age.

Senior Inspector Argel Ancheta, in his report to Senior Supt. Rosendo Franco, provincial police director, said Espora and his companion identified as Ronnie Mana-ay, 27, were hacked and stabbed allegedly by Candido Ojeda, a certain Nonoy and Tisoy, in Sitio Cabug, Brgy. Pandan, Pontevedra on Holy Thursday.

Espora was declared dead on arrival at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City, with multiple hack wounds, while his companion, who survived, got a stab wound in the  lower portion of his breast.

The three suspects were still at large yesterday.

Solana, on the other hand, was hacked to death allegedly by Jerry Sayson in Brgy. 13, Victorias City.

Sayson is now  in jail, and the motive of the killing was attributed to a misunderstanding between the suspect and the victim.

Celia Jison, 37, is now detained at a police lock-up cell after she allegedly shot Aldaba, 10, in Victorias City, on March 19.

Supt. Norberto Boston, Victorias police chief, in his report to Franco, said Jison who was having a drinking spree with her mother, got irked by the noise made by the victim.

A homemade shotgun was allegedly used by the suspect in shooting the 10-year-old child, who was hit in the abdomen and declared dead on arrival at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, police investigations also showed.

Meanwhile, a suspect in the killing of Mollenido on March 19 in Brgy. Libacao, Himamaylan City, has been arrested by the police.

Supt. Jomil John Trio, Himamaylan police chief, identified the arrested suspect as Rolando Octavio, a caretaker of a piggery farm in the place.

Trio said a certain Elias Dubria was also hit by stray bullets from the shotgun allegedly used by Octavio in shooting Mollenido.

A certain Randy Santanza is also being treated for multiple gunshot wounds at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Hospital in Bacolod City.

Santanza, 45, was on his way home in Brgy. Ma-ao, Bago City, when he was waylaid and shot by still unidentified gunman on Easter Sunday.

Ryan Juanico, a construction worker, was also stabbed allegedly by Alfie and Edwin Doresa at the public plaza of Brgy. Banqueruhan, Cadiz City, on Good Friday.

Juanico is confined at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, while the two arrested suspects are now detained at the lock-up cell of the Cadiz City Police Station.

Supt. Thomas Joseph Martir yesterday reported the apprehension of William Treyes, 32, at the public market of Talisay City, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Roberto Chiongson, for the crime of frustrated murder.

Treyes, a resident of Hacienda Granada, Brgy. Matab-ang, Talisay City, is detained at the Talisay police lock-up cell, for his failure to post bail of P200,000 recommended by Chiongson.*GPB
