X BAC captures
first BUSG title

Sizzling offense from Zaldy Navarra keyed X BAC’s victory in the 1st Basketball Unified Sports quadrangular title.

XBAC scored a 72-65 victory over D’Axial Engineering in their recent championship showdown at Lopue’s South Square in Bacolod City.

Navarra made 26 points while teammates Biboy Java delivered 13 and Melvin Baclay contributed 10 for X BAC.

For D’Axial, Vic Dueñas and Raymundo Sapa had an identical 12-point output each and Armando Soberano chipped in 10, but Bert Pabon was limited to 4 points and Julius Prietos only managed to get in 2 points, dousing hopes of their supporters for a championship title.

Sapa’s back-to-back triples in the third quarter which put the Engineers behind with one point at 56-55 gave the Engineers the chance to change the outcome of the game but the rally was foiled by X BAC men who managed to keep their composure under pressure.

In the battle for third place, Abet Jarder, Boy Gonzaga, Ding Hechanova, and Arman Pabon combined for 49 points to keep BACIWA out of danger from the threatening attempts of Tangub Riders.

Reynaldo Valencia scored 15 points while Ed Cruz made 10 for the losing effort of Tangub.

Meanwhile, at the post dinner in JEPs Restaurant at Panaad-RPH Complex, Soyao said the BUS Group will hold its first quarter assembly in April and among the agenda will be the drafting of new members, tournament format and team composition.

BUS Group will also join the Paglaum Village 37 above category in a tournament set this month.*
