Vice mayors hold
medical mission

The Vice Mayors League of the Philippines-Negros Occidental chapter conducted its second medical mission in the municipality of La Castellana recently, a press release from the group said.

The first mission was held at the municipality of Valladolid last year.

A total of 925 patients were served. They include 250 patients for medical, 100 – circumcision, 100 – dental, 75 therapy, 50- haircut and 250 for feeding, the press release said.

Joining the mission were troopers of the 303rd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army, 605th Community Defense Center, with dentists and other volunteer physicians.

Vice mayors present at the medical mission were Jude Thaddeus Sayson of Bacolod City, Chad Feria IV – La Castellana, Glory Gomez – Valladolid, Luz Bayot – Himamaylan City, Francis Frederick Palanca – Victorias City, Edgar Toms – Pontevedra, Omar Gayares – Isabela, Cipriano Remo – Moises Padilla, Antonio Suatengco – Pulupandan, and David Bago Jr. – La Carlota City, as well as Councilor Janet Villafranca of Himamaylan, the press release added.*

The Search for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines on the theme “Celebrate. Inspire. Affirm” is ongoing, Bacolod Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue said.

Students will be honored in the field of academic, leadership worthwhile and moral values.

Nominations may be coursed through the Office of Student Affairs of schools. Deadline of submission of entries is on March 28, 5 p.m. Awarding is on April 18, at the Social Hall of the Negros Occidental Capitol, Bacolod City.

Hospital to celebrate
82nd Founding Day

The Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City will celebrate its 82nd Founding Anniversary on March 26, with week-long activities that will be highlighted with a Mass, motorcade, and unveiling of commemorative picture of Doña Corazon Locsin Montelibano, a press release from organizers said.

A video presentation, and a nutrition feeding of all patients by the Lion’s clubs and chapters will also be held, as well as other medical services on the foundation day such as free outpatient consultation, free breast examination and the opening of the exhibit area to the public from March 26 to 28.
