| From a target of P6,304,200 in revenue collection, the Land Transportation Office in Siquijor was able to collect about P6,306,150.90 last year, an increase of more than P300,000, supervising transportation and regulation officer Gerald Dominguez said.
Dominguez said their collection covers those from licensing, law enforcement and registration activities.
They are enforcing the licensing and registration of motor vehicles, as well as the Republic Act 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code of the Philippines, to primarily look into road safety, especially to protect lives of motorists, he added.
Dominguez said they hit their target through the help of the Philippine National Police, particularly the Mobile Groups whose personnel are deputized by the LTO.
He also lauded the support of local government officials in its public safety awareness campaign.*RG
