| 4 killed in stabbing,
hacking in Neg.Occ.
Four persons were killed in stabbing and hacking incidents during the weekend in Negros Occidental, which were reportedly triggered by personal grudges, the police said yesterday.
Three of the victims identified as Roberto Quizan, 38; Warlito Alba, 26; and Rodito Ubay, a widower, died in stabbing incidents on Saturday and yesterday, in Brgys. Delicioso and Canlamay, Ilog town.
Senior Inspector Gabriel Gutierrez, Ilog police chief, yesterday said Quizan, Alba and his brother, Melvin, were hacked and stabbed allegedly by three suspects identified only through their aliases as Bogok, Boboy and Itloy, who remained at-large as of press time.
Gutierrez, in his report to Senior Supt. Rosendo Franco, provincial police director, said Quizan and Alba who sustained multiple stab and hack wounds in their bodies, were declared dead on arrival at the Kabankalan District Hospital.
Melvin, on the other hand, who has a stab wound in the back and survived, was transferred from the Kabankalan District Hospital to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Hospital in Bacolod City, for further treatment.
Meanwhile, Ubay, was also stabbed dead allegedly by a certain Rogelio Villavicencio in Sitio Talisay, Brgy. Delicioso, also in Ilog, on Saturday.
Villavicencio fled after the stabbing incident.
Supt. Calixto Mabugat also reported that the body of Michael Ortega, 25, which bore multiple stab wounds, was also found yesterday in Hacienda San Isidro, Brgy. Talubangi, Kabankalan City.
Mabugat, Kabankalan police chief, said the assailant of Ortega also remained unidentified as of yesterday.
Police also reported that a certain Gerald Grino was stabbed dead, while two others were injured, in a stabbing incident, which occurred at the public plaza of Sagay City, March 14.
Grino, 36, died on the way to the Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Sagay City, while his two companions identified as Aaron Bangkogo and Keru Here, who were reported to be in serious condition, are now being treated at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Sagay City.
Sagay police investigators recovered a 14-inch double bladed weapon and personal belongings at the crime scene. On the other hand, the identities of the suspects remained unknown until yesterday.
A certain Roberto Castillo is also being treated of a stab wound in the back at the Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Memorial Hospital in Isabela, police said.
The suspect in the stabbing of Castillo on March 13 in Brgy. Montilla, Moises Padilla, was identified by the police as Ronald Macabuyag, 18, who also remained at-large as of yesterday.*GPB

2 men disarmed of
unlicensed guns
Policemen arrested and detained a relative of a former police chief, and his companion, who were disarmed of two unlicensed guns in Toboso, Negros Occidental, Friday.
Senior Inspector Nestor Tuadles, Toboso police chief, yesterday identified the two arrested suspects as Roderick Baynosa, 43, and his companion as Miguel Solis, 38.
Tuadles said a .45 caliber pistol was taken from the possession of Baynosa, a relative of retired Senior Inspector Jose Baynosa, former Toboso police chief, while a .38 caliber revolver was recovered from the possession of Solis.
Police investigations show that Solis figured in a commotion with the workers of a cellsite being constructed in the poblacion of Toboso, while Baynosa tried to rescue him.
Tuadles said Baynosa surrendered his unlicensed pistol to the Toboso policemen who responded to the commotion, while Solis was arrested while trying to escape.
Charges of illegal possession of firearms will be filed today in court, against Baynosa and Solis who are now locked up in jail.*GPB
