Easter Sunday activities
slated at 2 Bacolod malls

Easter Sunday activities are set March 23 in two malls in Bacolod City, a press release from organizers said.

Children will be treated to an Easter Adventure called “Eggs-pedition” Kiddie Events which will include a Dive-for-Easter-eggs, Puzzle Fun Relay and Coloring Activities, 3 p.m. at the Fountain area of Robinsons Place.

Prizes and treats are also up for grabs courtesy of corporate sponsors, as well as puppet and magic shows, balloon twists, free loot bags for the first 80 kids to come, and other fun surprises, the press release said.

Interested parties may register at the Information Counter, South Arcade Level 1, or call the Marketing and Communications Department at Tel. No. (034) 441-1595.

Meanwhile, the first 1,000 registered participants will be given bunny hats as entry to the Easter party at SM City, 2 p.m. March 23 at the Northwing Event Centre, a press release from the mall said.

The first 100 children will also get a chance to join the Easter egg hunt with party loot bags to take home.

Highlighting the celebration will be the Easter Bunny Costume Contest to kick off with a grand parade where the Funniest Costume, Most Fantastic and Magical Costume, and Most Original Costume will be chosen, and will receive P5,000 worth of gift certificates each. 

Games and prizes also await participants at the Egg Painting Contest with prizes to be given away to the first 100 kids, and other promos, the press release said.

Meanwhile, SM Department Store will also be hosting the “Guess the Number of Eggs Easter Raffle Promo” from today until March 23. Every P500 single or accumulated receipts purchased will entitle shoppers to a raffle coupon.

Deadline for the submission of entries will be on March 23, 7:15 p.m. while the raffle draw will be at 7:30 p.m. Three winners will receive P5,000 worth of gift certificates, the press release added.*

First communion held

The Kabulig Organization of the University of St. La Salle Integrated School organized the first Holy Communion of children at the Bacolod Boys Home, in Bacolod City, recently, a press release from the group said.

Fr. Fernando Peralta officiated at the rites for 23 boys and 31 girls.

Kabulig is under the supervision of the Community Services Center with Alice Lucero as directress and Jerina Louise Yanson Ramos as president.

The group is supported by the Kabulig Executive Board composed of Kara Henares, Ryan Hilado, Kryzl Flores, Jane Astorga, Grace Olivar (project head) and Janine Mijares (member), the press release said.

The activity, which was attended by parents, ended with lunch served by the Kabulig after the Eucharistic celebration, the press release added.*

PTCA assembly

Rep. Iggy Arroyo releases P3.5 million to scholars in 5th District

Rep. Ignacio Arroyo Jr.  (Neg. Occ., 5th district) recently released P3.5 million for 1,140 scholars, coursed through his chief of staff Edgar Ruado, a press release from Arroyo’s office said.

Administrative officer Josephine Sorongon of the Commission on Higher Education assisted Ruado in turning over the grants to scholars at the Binalbagan Catholic College and Carlos Hilado Memorial State College.

The scholars were told to value the free education under the Priority Development Assistance Fund of the solon.

Scholars thanked the government for their grant, the press release added.*
